Norikura-dake Pin Badge Mount Norikura (Norikura-dake), one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, is located on the border between Gifu and Nagano prefectures, in Chubu-Sangaku National Park. It is a conical (cone-shaped) extinct volcano at the southern end of the Northern Alps. With Mount Kengamine, at an elevation of 3,026 meters, as its main peak, along with eight other peaks including Asahi-dake, it encompasses 23 peaks such as Daikoku-yama, Marishiten-dake, and Fujimi-dake, with a vast spread of foothills. The mountain's large form can be viewed from Takayama city and other areas on the Hida side.
