This artwork is a special poster printed on washi paper that has been specially processed from the original artwork. ▪️ The paper used for this artwork is a washi paper evolved for this project, based on the "Tosa Tengujo paper" manufacturing method passed down at Hamada Washi (Hamada Brothers Washi Production) in Kochi Prefecture, the setting of the manga "Shakotan Boogie." Washi paper of this lineage is strong and flexible, and has been used for the restoration of valuable cultural assets both in Japan and abroad, such as the "Ukiyo-e" at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the collections of the Louvre Museum, and Michelangelo's "The Last Judgment" in the Sistine Chapel of Vatican City. It is a unique existence that embodies the performance backed by its history in a form suitable for contemporary expression.
