Color: Dark Purple A very deep, dark purple, I fell in love with it at first sight, thinking it was black. However, I'm having trouble coordinating it with my other kimonos, so I'm letting it go. The quality is also superb, especially the tailoring. Generally, the body of the obi is about half the width of the otaiko section, but this one is tailored a bit wider. When worn, it creates a volume like a fukuro obi, making for a stylish look. The design also has a sense of weight, like a fukuro obi. It's a wonderful piece, and I decided it would be a shame to just let it sit in the chest of drawers forever!
