I am currently sorting through inherited items. This is a beautiful, antique piece, possibly a matcha tea bowl (natsuchawan) or a deep dish, with a lovely atmosphere. It features hand-painted, glazed images of charming thistles, a treasure from my grandfather's collection. This is an antique ceramic piece, a tea ceremony utensil. It appears to be quite old. There is a mark on the bottom. It was stored in a tea room shelf in the storehouse, so I believe it is a tea ceremony utensil. However, it looks like a dish at first glance, but it has depth, so perhaps it's a summer tea bowl? I think it's a very atmospheric item from an old era. The creamy-colored clay is thinly coated with a transparent glaze, and the thistles are beautifully depicted, blooming with a dignified beauty. The leaves are painted in realistic shades of green and deep navy, with gradations of color, creating a wonderful balance and a truly lovely atmosphere. Size: 16.5cm wide, 4.5cm high, a well-balanced piece. There is no box, but I will carefully pack and ship it. I would like to offer some of the good items that have come out of the storehouse. My grandfather was a hospital director in his lifetime and owned many works of art, including paintings and ceramics by Living National Treasures, and he often boasted about them, so I think they are all very good items. Neither my grandchild nor my mother are very interested in antiques, and we don't know which works are by whom or what kind of pottery they are. I don't know if the items I'm selling are Imari ware, Kutani ware, Shigaraki ware, or Seto ware. Even if they are wonderful works of art or very expensive items by a large number of antiques or Living National Treasures, I have no idea of their value.
