Thank you for viewing. This is a set of 5 Shudei (red clay) Kyudashi Yunomi (tea cups) by Sakuzan, a master craftsman of Tokoname ware, a traditional craft of Aichi Prefecture. [Features] - Power of the material: The Shudei's components soften the astringency of the tea and enhance its original flavor. - Craftsman's skill: Each cup is hand-carved with beautiful plum blossoms, becoming more comfortable to hold with use and developing a unique luster. - Kyudashi shape: The small size (approx. 6.5cm diameter, 6cm height) makes it easy to enjoy the aroma and color, making it ideal for entertaining important guests. [Product Condition (Important)] - Unused, long-term storage: The items have been stored in a wooden box, wrapped in their original packaging. - Regarding the base (bottom): Due to the unglazed (bisque fired) finish characteristic of Shudei, white scuff marks from friction with the packaging material and dividers during long-term storage are visible (see photos 5 and 6). This is an unavoidable phenomenon due to the nature of the material and is not dirt or chipping. - Emphasis on texture: To avoid the risk of deterioration or mold from water exposure, the items are being sold in their original condition without washing. Please wash them once after receiving them before use. - Original box: The wooden box has age-related yellowing and scuff marks.
