Three Wajima-nuri (Wajima lacquerware) sweets plates (meimei-zara). Although there are five plates in the photo, this listing is for three. They feature a peony arabesque design in chinkin (gold inlay). These are new and unused, but have been stored in a closet for about 30 years. One plate has a slight dullness (in the center of photo 6, it looks a little whitish; it's not that the white color is on it, but rather the gloss has faded slightly), but the others are in beautiful condition. I believe they are luxurious, with gold used throughout. They are surprisingly light. Diameter: approximately 13.8 cm Height: approximately 2.3 cm I have also listed a tea chest and teacups with a similar design, but the flower shapes seem to be slightly different. Perhaps this varied depending on the shop, workshop, or craftsman. They seem to convey the richness and generosity of the Showa era.
