To keep costs down, this Alpha pot circuit is designed to easily upgrade the circuit of even a domestic Stratocaster. The circuits in domestic guitars are often inexpensive due to cost considerations, and the quality isn't always the best. Replacing them with a higher-quality circuit will allow you to experience "a wider range, improved response, and reduced noise levels." Selector: OAK 5-way Pots: Alpha 250k A-curve x 3 Capacitor: Orange Drop 0.047uF 600V 160P 160P is a higher-end equivalent to the 150P in the Orange Drop series. Wiring: Fender cloth wire Jack: Switchcraft The wiring is master volume, front + center tone, and rear tone. Additional options include a smooth taper (+800 yen) to prevent high-frequency loss when rolling back the volume, and a switchable tone pot (pot cost + special wiring for +1800 yen) to enable the front and rear half-tone sounds that are not possible with a standard Stratocaster. A durable Switchcraft jack is used for frequent plugging and unplugging. Since it's a metric size, it fits most Stratocasters, including Fender Japan models, but you may need to slightly enlarge the selector screw holes on domestic pickguards. If so, please enlarge them slightly with a round file or similar tool for installation. You can also add a high-pass capacitor to prevent high-frequency loss when rolling back the volume, or change the tone pot to a switch to enable front + rear half-tone sounds or coil-tapping, which are not possible with standard Stratocaster wiring.
