This is an octagonal plate, a masterpiece of old Imari ware from the mid to late Edo period. The plate is molded into a slightly elongated octagonal shape, covered with a beautiful celadon glaze, and decorated with high-quality sometsuke (blue and white) depicting a landscape with figures. The reverse side features floral patterns and eboshi (formal headwear) on either side, with a ceramic seal inside the foot. This is a very elaborate and skillful work. The size is 27 cm vertically, 35 cm horizontally, 15 cm in base diameter, and 5.5 cm in height. The condition is excellent. It will be carefully packed and shipped.
