This is a small, lidded donburi bowl (rice bowl) made of Arita-yaki porcelain. Produced in and around Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, it is characterized by its translucent white porcelain and vibrant painting. Lidded bowls like the one in the image are also suitable for ozoni (New Year's soup) bowls or porridge bowls. Despite its delicate appearance, porcelain is harder and more durable than earthenware. Size: Approximately 13cm in diameter, 7.5cm in height.
