The thinning shears have a cutting rate of about 30-35% and the sharpness is not bad, but the feeling of pulling through is slightly inferior, and they snag a little when pulling through. I have sharpened them, so I think they can be used immediately, but if you are looking for a particular sharpness, please sharpen and adjust them yourself before using.
