This is a "Lion" wooden puzzle from Yamanaka Kumiki Kobo, which I have carefully displayed at my parents' house and stored at home for a long time.
It is a wooden puzzle lion crafted by Yamanaka Kumiki Kobo. It utilizes traditional Japanese woodworking techniques, forming the shape solely through the combination of wood pieces without using nails or glue.
This workshop was founded in Odawara during the Meiji era and has continued to create works for five generations. It was also exported to overseas markets and is known for being highly regarded by Bruno Munari, Taro Okamoto, and Sori Yanagi, gaining recognition as a Japanese craft.
It was produced around the 1990s, and production has now ceased, making it increasingly rare to find in the market. Therefore, this series is treated as a vintage piece among collectors and woodworking enthusiasts.
