SUS316 is a type of austenitic stainless steel, a steel grade that adds nickel and molybdenum to SUS304. Molybdenum has the function of repairing the passive film, so it has superior corrosion resistance and pitting corrosion resistance compared to SUS304. SUS316 is often used in products that require corrosion resistance, such as marine parts, chemical tanks, food equipment, general chemical equipment, and nuclear power applications.
