I create pieces using naturally dyed, off-white, fine-count yarn spun by artisans in Nakatsugawa from 100% New Zealand merino wool. The yarn is dyed with natural materials such as leaves, branches, fruit peels, and roots. Woven tightly on a foot-powered loom with 160 warp threads. This piece is a plain weave combining bright red-toned yarn with gray and purplish yarn. It has been lightly felted. Width: 26cm Length: 135cm (excluding fringe) It becomes softer and more comfortable with use.
