Due to long-term storage, the outer wrapping paper shows signs of aging (wrinkles, slight soiling, etc.), but the boxes themselves are in beautiful condition, showcasing the lacquer's natural beauty. Not being large, they are the perfect size for adding a touch of "celebration" to everyday occasions, such as serving small side dishes for kaiseki, Japanese sweets, appetizers, or for small arrangements when guests visit. When you hold them, you want to gently cradle them rather than lift them... These Ko-jyu (set of five) have a soft luster and beautiful roundness. I understand that the artisans of Noto are facing a difficult time due to recent disasters. I hope that these Wajima-nuri pieces will be cherished and passed on to their next owner.
