This is a wallet my daughter used, which I am putting up for sale because she has bought a new one. I bought it new for around 2000 yen, and it was used for a few months. She only carried it a few times a month when she went shopping, so it wasn't used very often. However, since she kept cash in it, there is some wear and tear. It seems to have 8 card pockets, but these were not used. Would this be suitable for your child's first wallet?
