New retail price: ¥968,000 Purchased 17 years ago from an authorized Yamaha dealer, with a professional instructor present. It resonates well, with no unevenness in sound, and excellent intonation. High notes are also easy to hit. Later, other professional instructors played it and gave it high praise, saying it was a very good instrument with easy sound production. It has a Kruspe wrap with a large bell, allowing for a full sound, but surprisingly, it feels light to play, and can be played with little effort. It excels at delicate expression. It gives the impression of an instrument that delicately reflects the mouthpiece used and the player's individuality, bringing out various expressions. Personally, I feel that the sound changes quite a bit depending on the player, and it's easy to reflect one's personality, but some people have said that anyone who plays it sounds like Tsutomu Maruyama. I think it's especially important to be particular about the mouthpiece you choose. I've played it for a considerable period, so there are scratches, lacquer wear, and very minor dents, but there are no accident histories, and I've taken good care of it. There is no sticking of the rotary valves or tuning slides. It's an instrument that can still be used for a long time. It's a good instrument, but I own two other instruments, and I've been playing it less and less recently, so I feel sorry for it.
