Published June 25, 1993 Robosha Sekiho Yabumoto Born in Wakayama Prefecture in 1907. Graduated from the former Tokyo Okura Higher Commercial School (now Tokyo Keizai University) in 1928. From his student days, he loved the antique art of his grandfather's profession, and while appreciating and researching it, he studied Nanga painting under Shonan Mizukoshi and Haiga painting under Ryushi Akamatsu. In 1964, with the support of his teacher, he founded and presided over the Haiga Sekiryu-kai. In 1991, he founded the All Japan Sekiho Haiga Association. His published works include "Haiga: How to Draw and Examples" (Japan Broadcasting Publishing Association), "Haiga: Drawing Seasonal Flowers" (ibid.), and "Haiga Saijiki" (Shusakusha Publishing), among many others. He received the Prime Minister's Award, the Minister of Education Award, and other awards.
