◇ Yasumi Takamatsu A court noble of the late Edo and Meiji periods (a poet of the Nijo school). He served as a chamberlain to Emperor Komei. Shosanmi (Senior Third Rank) and Daizen Gon no Daibu (Provisional Senior Assistant Master of the Imperial Table). His real father, Kinyasu (a successor of the Kokin Denju tradition), had a disciple named Suetomo Sanjōnishi. He was a court noble and peer of the Mushanokoji family, a branch of the Kanke-ryu of the Fujiwara Hokke Kan'in line. His family rank as a court noble was Urin-ke (a family eligible to enter the Imperial Guard). He opposed the Ansei Five-Power Treaty of Amity and Commerce between Japan and the United States and participated in the Teishin Hachijuhachikyo Ressan Incident. In the Meiji period, he provided the southern half of his residence east of the Imperial Palace (east side of Kyoto Gyoen National Garden) at the request of Joseph Hardy Neesima of Doshisha University. Doshisha English School opened in a corner of the Takamatsu residence.
