This is a reproduction of the "ECWCS Parka," also known as Layer 4, which is part of the US Army's first-generation "ECWCS" layering system, consisting of five layers. ECWCS (EXTENDED COLD WEATHER CLOTHING SYSTEM) is a layering system for extremely cold climates, officially adopted by the US military in the late 1980s. It's also known as the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. In addition to the parka, the system allows for the combination of synthetic fiber inner wear/liners according to the climate of the activity area, evolving into an innovative clothing system that can adapt to various climates through different combinations. The design adopts the wide neck and three-dimensional hood specifications of the early model, which is rare among GEN1 parkas. The large hood-integrated collar completely covers the mouth, enhancing cold protection, and faithfully reproduces the characteristics of the early model. Storage includes flap pockets on both sides, a utility pocket on the left arm, and Velcro-closure inner pockets on both sides of the zipper. Ventilation zips are provided under the arms, allowing for temperature adjustment while wearing. Detailed features include powder guards and drawcords to prevent wind and snow from entering. The outer fabric uses "PERTEX UNLIMITED" from the British company PERTEX, which is developed for manufacturers other than existing outdoor brands. The 3-layer shell with a membrane and mesh records very high performance in domestic water repellency tests. Seam tape is also applied to the seams, making it a rainwear with excellent specifications. It can be worn as a light outer in spring and autumn, and by wearing fleece innerwear in winter, it provides sufficient insulation.
