Candida Höfer "Reflections on Spaces – Spaces of Reflection" KOTARO NUKAGA (Roppongi) is pleased to announce the solo exhibition "Reflections on Spaces – Spaces of Reflection" by German photographer Candida Höfer, who is based in Cologne, from Saturday, October 14th to Saturday, December 23rd. This exhibition marks Höfer's first solo show at KOTARO NUKAGA and will feature her iconic "Library" series, focusing on the concept of "place" to reveal the dynamics within spaces and present a fresh perspective on realism through reflection. Höfer's images trigger not only visual information but also complex and multi-layered dialogues, offering deep insights into how a place has shaped its character as a "cultural place" through interaction with space, that is, reflection on space. The relationship between modern culture and history, including political power, religious power, knowledge, and art, and ourselves generates reflections of thought, revealing all the elements involved in that place.
