This is a set of 16 LP records and an explanatory booklet, "Okinawa Music Anthology," released in 1965 by Nippon Columbia in a limited edition of only 100 sets. Most of these sets were delivered to libraries, making surviving copies extremely rare. The "Okinawa Music Anthology 16-record set" contains over 300 songs of Okinawan music. This compilation album, released in November 1965 by Nippon Columbia, covers classical music, folk music, and folk songs of Okinawa. It includes music not only from Okinawa Island but also from Miyako and Yaeyama, preserving valuable recordings from that time. You can enjoy a wide range of genres, including *kumiodori* (Ryukyuan classical dance-drama), opera, classical *shamisen* music, outdoor play songs, and children's songs. This set, with a total playing time of 12 hours and 34 minutes, is a valuable resource for gaining a deep understanding of Okinawan musical culture of the time. In my subjective opinion, the case, records, and obi (sleeve) are all in relatively good condition, making this a rare set that rarely appears on the market. The string that fastens the record case is broken on one side (see photo), but otherwise, I believe it is in excellent condition. I have performed a thorough check, but as this is an old product, please understand that there may be some age-related deterioration before purchasing.
