Japanese-made vulcanized fiberboard (steel paper) storage/transport box from the 1960s. This box was used for storage and transport in clothing stores and commercial settings at the time, combining high practicality with a strong visual presence. The main body is made of vulcanized fiberboard, a material widely used at the time. It is highly rigid, with excellent pressure resistance and abrasion resistance, and was also used in many Showa-era trunks and large storage boxes as an industrial material. The whole is a riveted construction, and is firmly reinforced with metal corner guards. The surface shows scratches, scuffs, and color unevenness due to aging, but all are due to actual use, and no repairs or refinishing have been done. Suitable for use as a large storage box, as well as for display in stores and ateliers, and as a vintage industrial item for photography, video production, and spatial design.
