Product Description Asics collaborated with architect Kengo Kuma to release a new color for the running shoe "METARIDE™ AMU" in 2019. This shoe was developed based on the "METARIDE™" released in 2019, born from Asics' unique concept of "reducing energy consumption and running longer." The upper part, which covers the mono-sock structure made of knit material, features a design inspired by Kuma's "Yatara-ami," a traditional Japanese bamboo weaving technique. The 2021 model of "METARIDE™ AMU" follows Kuma's desire to create environmentally friendly architecture, with midsole materials that utilize the original colors of the materials, knit parts woven with 100% recycled yarn, and natural washi yarn used for the heel tape. Various improvements have been made, not only to the visible parts, such as the shoe lace stopper suitable for a secure fit and long-distance running, but also to the cross-sections of artificial leather materials, the backing materials, and the sewing threads.
