The lid handle is shaped like a pine cone, which is an accent, and it has a heavy weight overall. This is a Nambu Tekki iron kettle, a traditional craft, made by Mandaiya Matsu, a Nabemoto. The iron kettle is stamped with "Nambu" on the side. The inside is not enamel-coated, but a black baked finish that allows iron to dissolve.
