This item was made by deconstructing, washing, and ironing a meisen single-layer kimono with basting threads still attached. I did a burn test, and the fire went out quickly with a smell like burning hair, so I believe it is definitely silk. The kimono has a chic, blurred pattern typical of meisen, with an uguisu (Japanese bush warbler) green background and large, irregular purple flowers. I've transformed it into a Margaret cardigan with cuffs. The double cuffs provide a secure and comfortable feel. The fabric is not the smooth, slippery type of meisen, but rather a thick fabric with a slightly rough, linen-like texture. It looks stylish worn over sweaters in winter. You can also have fun pairing it with your existing clothes, such as short coats or jackets, depending on your creativity. It can be used all year round, providing sun protection and air conditioning relief in spring and summer, and temperature regulation in the cool autumn.
