I purchased this a while ago and used it as an interior decoration. It has sun fading, creases, tears, and holes (pinholes from being displayed on the wall), as well as general age-related deterioration. I believe shell maps themselves are quite rare to find in Japan. I don't have expert knowledge, so I can't say for sure, but the years shown on the map all appear to be from the 1940s.
