With the New Year approaching, I made an inkstone with that kind of atmosphere. "Kotobuki!" (Longevity/Congratulations!) (lol) This is a Minista-style tuned Ogatsu inkstone with a stone lid (reworked ink well and ink surface). It was made by Katsuru Yamazaki, a traditional craftsman of Ogatsu inkstones. (I think it's an inkstone from before he became a traditional craftsman, but I feel like the inkstones from that time were better.) It's an inkstone made using Ogatsu stone from Miyagi Prefecture, and it's a stone with a nice atmosphere, with cloud patterns. The powerful "Kotobuki" characters carved on the stone lid and the lid's paint are also carefully made. The stone lid fits perfectly, so the ground ink doesn't dry out easily. It's convenient for breaks or dealing with sudden guests. Good for kana (up to full-size paper), kanji (up to full-size paper), and ink painting. From oil soot ink to blue ink and pine soot ink, it produces good ink color and spread. The ink grinds exceptionally well, and the ink smoothly grinds and releases ink. The ink color is good from dark ink to light ink, and it has gradation and good spread, so I think you can write long, good lines. There are a few small chips on the edge of the inkstone and the back of the lid. They are small chips on a large inkstone, so they are not very noticeable.
