I created a two-piece obi (taiko style) from a beautiful, unused fukuro obi. It's separated into the waist section and the taiko (drum) section. The taiko part is not sewn on and is secured with Velcro, allowing you to adjust the size of the taiko. The taiko section can be extended and stored in a tatogami (wrapping paper for kimono). ◎ Information on Obi Pillow Base Since two-piece obis without fasteners tend to slip down, using a separately sold obi pillow base will keep the obi secure and prevent it from falling.
