Songbooks compiling traditional Hawaiian songs are not often published in Hawaii because they can't compete with this one. It's a long-selling book that continues to be reprinted. People in Hawaii don't often go to restaurants, and it's customary to have barbecues in their backyards on weekends. The men are very serious about grilling meat, and they all think the meat they grill is the best. This songbook is always present on those occasions. With this one book, everyone can sing and dance together. Singing and parties are inseparable, and children grow up watching adults jamming, and that's how Hawaiian song culture is passed down. Therefore, this is the definitive Hawaiian songbook. The book has been kept in good condition, without any notes or markings.
