It has been stored unused since I received it, as I haven't had a chance to display it, but I have taken it out and put it back, so there are some tears in the tissue paper and some slight damage to the box, so please check the photos. This is a decorative plate for the Boys' Festival that allows you to feel the aesthetic sense of "Okura Art China" down to the fine details. With the wish for strength, greatness, and health, the carp streamers fluttering in the wind are beautifully depicted against a background of blue and white matching paper. The checkered border is decorated with gold etching, which expresses an elegant shine through the difference in the luster of the gold. The painted pattern is masked onto the white fabric after it has been fired, and fine sand is sprayed to shave the surface of the fabric, creating a relief of the motif.
