This is a Besson SOVEREIGN. It's the classic 928 (Sovereign, Sovrin, Sobrin...). For those who play the cornet, this model needs no introduction. If you're starting out with a proper British brass cornet, this is a standard model and the most quintessential "cornet" recognized worldwide, so it's a must-have. It's well-known that Besson instruments, aside from the Prestige line, can have a wide range in quality. This one has been adjusted by a skilled workshop in Tokyo, experienced in Sovereign maintenance, at a cost of over 50,000 yen, to the point where it can be said to "play very well for a Sovereign." They said it could play even better if it was completely disassembled, all the solder joints redone, and then reassembled, but in my opinion, it's already at a sufficient level in its current state. All parts are smooth, and the airtightness is sufficient. There are some scratches and minor flaking due to use of the plating. There is a small dent of about 1mm on the tuning slide where it attaches to the 3rd valve (visible in the photos if you look closely). Other than that, I couldn't find any other flaws.
