The surface has a scratch finish, giving it a matte appearance, but the surface will become smoother and develop a deeper color with age. The scratch finish also allows for faster aging, making this leather perfect for enjoying the aging process. *Based on Bach cornet mouthpieces.* For short shank mouthpieces like Yamaha, please purchase the short shank version. Although unconfirmed, it is likely that flugelhorn mouthpieces will also fit perfectly, depending on their overall length.
