This is an old wooden weight, likely used in weaving, that I purchased from a shop that sells vintage and antique items from Japan and abroad. I don't remember the exact era, but I believe it's from around the early Showa period. It's made of carved wood and has a good weight to it. The size is about 5cm in diameter and has a slightly irregular shape. The height is about 13cm, and a string woven from brown, beige, vermilion, and white threads is securely threaded through the body. I bought it because I thought the color and shape of the wood, aged over time, and the vibrant string were beautiful and atmospheric, but I ended up just putting it away. It has a strong presence, so I think it would look good just leaning or rolling around.
