I obtained this pure silver coin purse at a French flea market. The ribbon and rose design is lovely and very French. This is a type of chatelaine. From the 18th to 19th centuries, it was fashionable for aristocratic women to hang various beautiful small items from their waists. The ring attached to the clasp is for hanging. Hallmarks indicating pure silver are on the side of the clasp (photos 10 & 11) and inside, with a marking of "800" for pure silver (photo 9). As a pure silver coin purse, I believe it's in good condition compared to others I've seen.
