Yachimun fired in traditional climbing kilns has a characteristic distortion compared to dishes made in electric kilns. The "hebi-no-me" (concentric circles) created by stacking and firing are familiar as one of the characteristics of yachimun. The appearance of the clay, small pinholes, swelling bubbles, fine crack patterns (called "kannyu"), uneven glaze, and glaze peeling are natural occurrences that occur during the pottery process.
