This is a refined Nagoya obi featuring beautiful embroidered orchids. The embroidery of the buds, gently raising their heads, is lovely... Drawn in a simple sketch, a cat fairy has come flying in, lured by these flowers. It has big eyes and a plump body. The wings are made with a slightly translucent pigment, with fine glitter mixed in to give a classy sparkle. I've also added a cat fairy to the front of the obi. It's drawn higher up so it won't be covered by the obi締め (obi cord). The subdued crimson color of the obi can be coordinated with the same color family as the kimono for a grape-colored ensemble, or with green for a Christmas-themed look, or paired with a single color from a patterned kimono, or even with subdued colors like black or gray... I think it's a color that will complement various kimonos. Also, the fabric has an elegant feel, made of shioze (a type of silk crepe), which seems easy to tie.
