Kuwata covered over 170 songs in this event, including Showa-era kayokyoku, enka, group sounds, folk songs, new music, and even Heisei-era J-POP, and put on a grand musical show by parodying the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. Regarding this, the website of the related program later explained, "It was a feat only Kuwata could achieve, as he rediscovered the splendor of Japanese popular music, having started his musical career by admiring Western music and then gaining experience."
