Showa Retro Two vintage Gekkeikan sake boxes. They are a set of two. The characters are in reverse order, so they might be pre-war. "Sho Chiku Bai" is one of Gekkeikan's signature brands. I believe these are rare items that are hard to come by. They have a lot of character. They were found in a relative's storage shed. How about using them for home decor, as part of a collection, for event props, or for store fixtures? The lids close without issue, but on one of the boxes, the thin board on the back that prevents the box from shifting has come off. It also sticks out a little, so the lid moves slightly when closed. (Photos 12 and 13) As these are old items, there are signs of dirt, scratches, scuffs, fading, and drying cracks in the wood. Please check the photos carefully for the condition.
