Along with his father, the late 7th Nagaharu, and his brother Ken (8th Nagaharu / died in 1993), he researched Nabeshima celadon, continuing to create pottery while valuing traditional techniques. After his first selection for the Seibu Craft Exhibition in 1973, he was selected a total of 15 times, and also received numerous selections in various exhibitions including the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition. He is a member of the Japan Kogei Association.
