This is a visiting kimono (homongi) and a six-panelled fukuro obi. A traditional visiting kimono and fukuro obi featuring auspicious motifs of plum blossoms, pine, mandarin oranges, and a shell-shaped container, with gold leaf accents. Recommended for celebrations such as the first tea ceremony of the year (hatsugama), entrance ceremonies, Shichi-Go-San (children's festival), and weddings. This visiting kimono was only worn once for a baby's first shrine visit (omiya-mairi) and has been stored since. There are some wrinkles, but it is in a condition ready to wear. With wisteria, Japanese pampas grass, and other seasonal flowers depicted, it can be worn regardless of the season. The fukuro obi is a luxurious piece woven with 900-count brocade, which I received from someone else. I haven't had the opportunity to use it, so I am offering it for sale.
