Set of Calligraphy [Tanzaku] (8 Types) These were likely purchased by my mother, who ran a calligraphy class until about 25 years ago. From left to right in the first photo, they are as follows: A: Practice tanzaku with a pattern of imperial court paper, a set of 12 sheets in 6 colors (2 sheets each). The brand is "Kiritsugi Gashu." Unused and stored in a bag on cardboard, so there is almost no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 2 and 3) B: Practice tanzaku paper, believed to be the remainder of a partially used set. 14 sheets in 5 colors (yellow 3 sheets, light purple 4 sheets, pink 3 sheets, light yellowish green 2 sheets, light blue 2 sheets). They have beautiful floral patterns. They were bound together, but there is no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 4-6) C: Plain practice tanzaku paper, believed to be the remainder of a partially used set. 37 sheets remain bound together, and there is almost no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 7 and 8) D: Decorative tanzaku with red background and gold kirihaku (cut foil) and sunago (gold dust) scattered throughout. One sheet of thick paper, with no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 9 and 10) E: Decorative tanzaku with a flesh-colored background with various patterns, gold kirihaku, and sunago. Two sheets, with no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 11 and 12) F: Tanzaku decorated with gold kirihaku and sunago on a light green background. One sheet, with no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 13 and 14) G: Tanzaku decorated with gold kirihaku, sunago, and noge (fine gold dust) on a light cream-colored background. One sheet, with no visible dirt or damage. (Photos 15 and 16) The size of A to G is approximately 6cm x 36cm. Types D to G are made of sturdy thick paper and are likely for final drafts. H: Eight wide golden tanzaku, made of thick paper with gold edges. The edges show signs of aging and damage, but there is no noticeable dirt or damage on the rest of the paper. The back is decorated with silver sunago. The size is approximately 75mm x 362mm, and the thickness is about 1.5mm. (Photos 17-20) Thank you very much.
