This trivet was designed in 1966, using a motif of traditional Japanese patterns. Designer Mosuke Yoshitake established the current Japan Craft Design Association and initiated the craft design movement, truly a pioneer of craft design. Using the advanced casting technology that is a characteristic of Yamagata casting, "thin and beautiful," the thickness is thinned and refined, and the beauty of the cast skin stands out. Mosuke Yoshitake Profile Born in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture in 1909. Graduated from the Department of Metalwork, Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts). In 1956, he left the art and craft world and aimed to rebuild crafts through design. He established the Japan Designer Craftsman Association (now the Japan Craft Design Association). Aiming for both beauty of use/good quality and mass production, he initiated the craft design movement.
