Their 3rd album, "CRAWL," was released in 1991. "THIRTEEN" was formed with four members, including Jeff Lorien (guitar). At the time, grunge/alternative music that invaded the entire United States from Seattle was, to put it very roughly, a crossover of punk rock and hard rock/heavy metal, and various bands emerged with the same momentum as bamboo shoots after the rain. The point of breaking through to the next level, again roughly speaking, comes down to whether there was another twist or plus-alpha in addition to the crossover of punk and metal. COFFIN BREAK was strongly punk-oriented in its early days. Around "CRAWL," they became obviously more metal-oriented.
