The flower-like, rounded edges have gold accents. I think they can be used for various things like fruits, cakes, and sweets. The small plates have some areas where the gold paint is thin on two of the four plates (photos 10 and 11). The large plate is almost unused, so I don't think there are any scratches. They have been stored in a home cupboard, so please be aware of that. I am selling them to organize my dish cabinet. Used a few times.
