It can be worn on its own on cold days as the zipper can be closed all the way up to the neck. Although it's thick, you can easily wear a coat over it! The sweater was only worn once. The knit hat doesn't have a size listed, so it's unknown, but it's a bit large, so I think it can be used for a long time.
