The current manufacturer's website lists the bell size as 45cm, but this is an older model, so the bell is 42cm. There are many scratches and repair marks, but anything that would hinder performance has been fixed. The rotary valves and tubing all function correctly, but because it's handmade and the 4th valve slide is very wide, be careful as it may get stuck if you try to force it in or out. Compared to tubas of the same size, it has a higher volume tolerance and gives the impression of having many overtones. The intonation is also good, requiring only a little getting used to. The mouthpiece must be the extra-thick shank known as the Alexander shank to fit correctly. Please use the included adapter or an Alexander shank mouthpiece (Tilz 19). Using the adapter may not allow the instrument to perform to its full potential. Therefore, I recommend using the Tilz mouthpiece. I plan to ship it in a Protec case, packed as carefully as possible. I will usually ship within 1-2 days, but it may take up to 7 days in some cases. Direct pickup is also possible, but you will need to come to my location, so please let me know in advance.
