I used this for shore and offshore fishing for sea bass, Spanish mackerel, etc. After fishing, I rinsed it with water and applied oil to the line roller, main shaft, and handle. Currently, when reeling, there is no grinding or scratching sound. There are scratches on the body and spool due to use. There are no major scratches on the spool edge, so I don't think there will be any problems when releasing line. The drag makes a sound, but it feels a little off. You might want to have the drag spring replaced by the manufacturer. No box. Please consider the above before purchasing.
