The obi fabric is a textured weave with a delicate seigaiha (wave) pattern, subtly incorporating memorable scenes of the southern islands, such as shisa (guardian lion dogs), hibiscus, whale sharks, and pineapples. The "Getto" (shell ginger) pattern, which stands out on the white background, is based on the fragrant plant native to Okinawa, and its beauty is highlighted by the refreshing shades of indigo and delicate brushwork. The intricate lines drawn by hand, down to each leaf vein and petal, and the vivid colors unique to Bingata overlap, resulting in a design that combines the vitality of the southern islands with quiet elegance.
