The metal parts are brass, so the rust should come off with polishing. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. Therefore, I have listed it as "Like New." It has been stored without being taken out of the cardboard box. It is wrapped in thick white cushioning sheets. There are black spots/stains on the top of the lid and scratches on the corners. There are also traces of cellophane tape on the mirror. If you understand that this is an old storage item, I would appreciate your consideration. (There are a large and a small size.
