Furthermore, as the transition to performance-based design and limit state design methods progresses, there is a need for a practical manual and textbook that incorporates these concepts and covers the necessary aspects of dynamic seismic design for bridges. This book presents the concepts and design tools for dynamic seismic design in a guideline style based on performance design and limit state design formats (Parts I and II). It then presents examples of solutions to various issues that are useful when performing dynamic nonlinear analysis of bridges (Part III), and further illustrates a total of 12 design and verification examples (Part IV) in an easy-to-understand manner, making it a timely publication. We hope that it will be widely used by practitioners and students.
